Alluring facts on Hide rug Skin

We bought this for my daughter to put in her suitcase for 1) the possibility of an overweight suitcase and 2) to use as an overnighter when she arrived at her destination. She used it immediately — her bag was too heavy upon arrival at the airport, and she stuffed shoes and other heavy items into the duffel. It held up well (strong, lightweight), making it all the way to her overseas destination in great shape (even after the airline lost the bag for nearly two days). It is sturdy, practical. Also, despite the original estimated arrival date, the bag arrived more quickly. Smart purchase.
Is this opening for my story OK so far?
This is the opening for a story I'm writing, I'm currently trying to think of what to do next in the story, so I thought I might as well just see what some other people think of it so far, lol. Here goes.Quivering on the carpeted stairs was sat what remained of Alicia Sinnett’s childhood-a bony nine year old girl, wrapped in a canary yellow dress and matching hair ribbon. Her head rested on her knees as she hugged them. Her black cat, Pixie, sat one step above Alicia, her tail swaying and her fur shining. She sat like a jet black gargoyle, guarding her owner. The two barely flinched, statues in a warzone. “Alice!” The voice was piercing, but Alicia did not unclasp her arms from around her knees.“Alice!” The voice was beginning to break. It did not faze Alicia. One final cry erupted.“Aaaliiiceee!”“Shut up!”The voice broke alright; it tore open with the most chilling scream Alicia had ever heard. This was followed by a chorus of muffled yells and a series of bangs and clatters. She flinched slightly, but otherwise did not move, rooted to the step where she was perched. Then, her daddy emerged from the kitchen, his face red and sweaty.“Daddy?” Alicia lifted her head. Her daddy turned around with a look of self-defeat written over him like a book-his solemn, watery features, his slumping posture. He looked her in the eye for a good half a minute, before skulking out the door. He said nothing. He closed the door without slamming it, but still the doorframe shivered. Alicia didn’t know why, but in her gut something said she would not see her father Hide rug Skin much more now. She could hear sobs coming from the kitchen. Her daddy had seen red, lost his temper. It wasn’t the first time. Alicia gazed above the mahogany door. There was a small stained glass window that depicted a sunset over the sea. The blue sea was flecked with white and it looked rigid and square. Alicia had seen the sea just once, and she didn’t remember it being blue or rigid or square. In fact, if she remembered, it was a bit rounded and was a weird shade of brownish grey. She remembered that day, in some seaside town, where it rained for the most part of the day. She looked to the stained glass sky-it was pink, and the sun was large and orange. Alicia had seen this sometimes in the evenings from her bedroom window. The wails from the kitchen became too loud for Alicia to ignore. She crept down the stairs, wincing if any stairs creaked or groaned. When she entered the kitchen, she saw her mother kneeling on the floor. She was the very image of a stereotypical housewife-her honey blonde hair tied in a bun, her smooth perfect skin, and her clothes. Her gingham dress fanned out over her folded legs. She was hiding her face behind her hands, and crying.Alicia walked slowly forward. Her mother didn’t even lift her head. Alicia backed out once again, her eyes wide in fear, and she took up her position on the stairs again, only this time Pixie had snuck into the kitchen. Alicia stared at her shiny black dolly shoes, and kicked her feet idly together. She would wait for her brother to come home. He would help her.*Sure enough, after a good twenty minutes, her brother, Mike, arrived through the door. He was eight years older than Alicia. He came in and shut the door so hard that the stained-glass sunset shook. It wasn’t for a reason; it was just how he shut doors. “Hey, Alice. What are you doing there?” he said. Alicia lifted her head, “I think mommy’s hurt, Mikey.”Mike looked concerned. He scratched his forehead, and raced toward the kitchen. Alicia shadowed him. Her mother was lying on her stomach, face down, on the kitchen floor. She reminded Alicia of one of those rugs made from animal skins, complete with heads.“Mom?” Mike said slowly. The pair assumed their mother had passed out. She had only done this a few times in Mike’s whole life, and Alicia had witnessed it just once. “Mom?” Mike repeated, this time with more vigour. The mother-skin rug did not stir.“Mom? Mom!?” Mike shook his mother’s shoulder. Nothing. He rolled his mother over. Alicia peered out from behind her brother. Running from her mother’s throat was a ruby red river of blood.Mike staggered backwards, then ushered his little sister from the kitchen. He said, “Go to your room, Alicia. Do some colouring or something.”Alicia slowly ascended the stairs, and heard the familiar workings of the phone. Then, Mike’s voice, “Hello? Police? I need help! It’s an emergency! My mother is...or, I think she is, dead!”Alicia retreated to her room. She lay on her bed and sobbed. The next thing she remembered was looking out the window to see a concealed body being wheeled out of the house. She shut the curtains, rolled over and cried herself to sleep, baking in the evening sunset’s glow.

We recently went to Europe and spent two days out of two weeks at the beach. This was a terrific bag to pull out and use for the beach (and then for “overflow” items we picked up during our trip) and didn’t take up a lot of space. Great purchase, very convenient, lightweight and just the right size. I highly recommend this tote.
My husband thought I was silly when I bought this and brought it along for our trip to Morocco but he changed his mind by the end of the trip! We bought handmade rugs in Fes and were able to cram them into this bag and check it. The bag and the rugs made it through perfectly. This bag is much larger than you would think it would be and the material is really sturdy. I’ll definitely be bringing this along on every trip to haul back our souvenirs!
This tote bag really saved our you-know-whats on a recent return trip from the Baltics. It was stuffed to the max with clothing and souvenirs–its capacity is quite amazing! It came thru the nightmarish ordeal we endured to get home better than I did. Our luggage got rerouted and we couldn’t get a flight home, so my dd and I lived out of this bag at airports for 3 days. The ONLY downside I had was after lugging it around on its straps for that length of time my hands/shoulders were pretty sore. There’s no padding on the straps so I had to break down and purchase some at one of the airport gift shops. Other than that, this little bag truly proved its worth, and folds to nearly nothing. It will be kept at hand for other emergencies.
This tote packs away in itself until it is needed. It is lightweight, zips closed. Fully loaded, it still fits within the size for a carry-on. Because of the zipper, you could check it if you needed to.
Material is much stronger than most “pack away” totes.
I purchased this item, and chose a size (medium) that, according to manufacturer sizing charts, was supposed to fit. My understanding about garments is that if they ride up or curl down, they’re too small. Spanx’ error in this regard is really inexcusable, given the price of their items. I can’t recommend this item, even if you were to buy a larger size than you think you need, because I don’t know if that would prevent the rolling problem. I have found that even wearing a Spanx shaper underneath or over is no guarantee–in fact, the top of the pants rolled DOWN even while the camisole was rolling UP!
The best thing about this product and that you can wear it all day without thoughts of suicide! Unfortunately it doesn’t provide the same results as the uncomfortable ones either. I guess you can’t have it all.
I like how the Spanx Mid Thigh Smoother doesn’t make much of a line on my thighs when I’m wearing clingy pants or skirt.
However, the waist is too loose and tends to roll down a bit after I’ve had it on for a while. I’m a size 8 / 10, and ordered the Medium size Spanx. My suggestion would be to order a smaller size than you think you need.
I was a little dissapointed with this item because if the sizing and the fit. According to Spanx sizing charts i would be a medium and when i first received it i was thrilled because it fit very snug, was very comfortable, soft and of really good quality. However, after wearing it a couple of times the item began to strech out! The seam that lines the bra top section of the garment at first fit snugly under my breast, was now able to be pulled up over my breast! And i kept having to pull it up to get the support i needed since it kept slipping down. Instead of a snuggly fitting support garment, it was now fitting like regular spandex, with very little to no support. I couldn’t figure out why this happened considering how much i paid for the item. I washed it as directed so it couldn’t have been anything on my end. But since it was worn i knew i couldn’t return it to the vendor I had purchased it from.
SO, I called SPANX directly, explained the situation, and they were incredibly helpful. They told me that their items had three levels of support and that the “Hide and Sleek” line had the LEAST amount of support, and then offered to exchange my Mediums for Smalls to try for the snugger fit i was looking for or another item alltogether with greater support. I opted for the size exchange hoping that the smalls would fit me the way i wanted them to.
Keep in mind that this “streching out” occured after wearing it a couple of times, even though the fit was really snug and great fitting at first. So you might want to consider ordering a size smaller than you think you might need.
I love this thing. I have the Spanx shaper that reaches from the waist to calf length. I also have a shaper that reaches from under the bust to mid-thigh. I like both but sometimes I just don’t like the band around my waist. This fixes all of those problems. It is comfortable, breathable, and I don’t get hot in it. Yes, it’s a hassle when you have to go to the rest room but you expect that when you wear a body suit, so deal. This was a good purchase.
I purchased this to wear under a dress that was a little sheer. I purchased it in black. I wear a size 14/16 in a dress and ordered the XL. Found that this fit was fine for me. It does it’s job well. I didn’t have any problem with the legs rolling. I chose to wear it with out a bra because really how much confining clothing can one person put on and still be conftrable? The support for the bra area is light, and is more like a sports bra. It did create a sleek shape and most important it didn’t get super hot as I wore it all day at an outside party. Didn’t have any problem using the cotton gusset, which was super important becase I didn’t want to have to dirobe each time I had to answer the call of nature. All in all this was a good purchase. The only thing that I wish is that the bra area had a build in bra that supported more like an everyday bra and less like a sports bra. It isn’t bothersome enough to make me use a bra with this, but I might use a clevage enhancer with it next time so that I look like I have two seperate “girls” unstead of one large “girl”.
