I could give you the answer, assuming this isn’t some homework assignment. Briefly, one of Godard’s themes in his movies is to make you aware you are watching a movie, not real life. By making the cinematic effects obvious or unexpected, he is trying to break down the ‘trance’ people go into when watching a movie and forget they are watching one. He wants you to be aware that you’re watching a movie. He might have “bad” cinematography since that draws attention to technique. It’s not that he doesn’t know the rules as his earlier films demonstrate.
